What is Focus Shock Wave Therapy?

๐Ÿ”น   Shockwave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), is an non-invasive treatment that utilities high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate your body's natural healing process. 

๐Ÿ”น   Originally developed to treat kidney stones and gallstones, it has been found to be effective in treating musculoskeletal!injuries and chronic pain conditions.

๐Ÿ”น   Focus shock wave therapy can provide deeper penetration for deeper tissue than radial waves, focusing its output into more localised, more profound areas.

๐Ÿ”น   EMFOCUS, the electromagnetic focus shockwave is based on the physical principle of electromagnetic induction.  It enables very precise and highly sensitive dosing of the applied shock wave energy. The shock wave source used a special coil to focus the shock waves.

๐Ÿ”น   Shock waves are generated in water outside the body and then transmitted to the biological tissue. This provides an accurately defined focal zone that can move through the skin without losing power. And the site of the applicator on the skin experiences a minimal impact, limiting the damage to surface skin and underlying soft tissues (safer & more comfortable).

๐Ÿ”น   Furthermore, the time taken for a focused shock-wave to reach that peak, as well as its overall pulse duration, is far shorter than that of a Radial shockwave. It's faster, stronger and comforter.
